Discover Scuba Diving in Coiba National Park
Duration: 1 day
Price: $210 + entrance fee ($20 for foreigners, $5 for panamanians or residents, this needs to be paid in cash)
Included: dive theory, two dives, rental equipment and lunch (fruit and a sandwich)
Possible add ons: if you loved it and the weather is nice, after lunch you can do another dive for an additional $30.
What is it?
Have you always wondered what it’s like to breathe underwater? Would you like your partner or friend to give it a go? Discover Scuba Diving is for anyone who would like to try scuba diving, but isn’t quite ready to take the full three day course. Many dive shops offer this program either in a pool or straight off a beach. At Panama Dive Center everything happens in Coiba National Park. Discover Scuba Diving is a quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world. On your first journey underwater you will be accompanied by one of our PADI-trained instructors who, after teaching you a few essential skills, will take you on the first two dives of your life.
How does it work?
After your reservation, you will receive an email with access to a few short videos to watch before your arrival. These will give you a clear idea of what to expect and only take just a few minutes.
If possible, we ask that you come by the dive shop the day before your trip to check in. This allows us to try on equipment, finalize payment, and answer any questions you may have.
On the day of your trip, you will meet your PADI instructor at the dive shop at 7:00 AM for a briefing before heading out to Coiba National Park (approximately a one-hour boat ride). Once there, your instructor will choose a suitable location to practice a few basic skills and help you get comfortable breathing underwater before taking you on your first dive.
After a relaxing beach break, you’ll enjoy a second dive at a different site. Lunch will then be served, and you’ll have the option to do an additional dive before heading back to Santa Catalina.
We usually return between 3:00 and 4:00 PM.
Prerequisites
To sign up for a PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience with us, you must be at least 12 years old. No prior experience with scuba diving is necessary, but you need to know how to swim and be in reasonable physical health. You will be asked to fill in a medical questionnaire beforehand (it will be sent to you when you make your reservation, so you can go to a doctor if necessary for clearance) to ensure you are fit for diving.
